About Us

Steve and Tracey started Judge Decorators originally in Wellington, NZ in 1997. They have always owned and operated the business themselves, and they both get a lot of joy from the business, with Steve having a wealth of knowledge about the trade and enjoying what he does and Tracey having a real interest in colour and design as well as managing the administration side of the business.

In 2003, they wound down Judge Decorators in Wellington and moved their family to Brisbane, Australia. In 2005, they started Judge Decorators in Brisbane. In the beginning, they were mainly based in the northern suburbs, however after a couple of years the business grew and they opened up another office in the inner city suburbs. Their work consisted of huge renovations, new builds (including apartments and units) and repainting of commercial buildings and shop fitouts.

In 2014, they decided that it was time to move back New Zealand as they missed their family and friends and New Zealand in general. They have brought back with them a lot of new skills, knowledge and experience.

After meeting with you on site, you will receive one of our quotation packages in the mail, which consists of our insurances, references and different information about our company.

We will provide you with the lastest paint charts, information sheets on products we will be using to undertake your job and once you have accepted our quotation, we are more than happy to provide you with test pots so you can be sure you have chosen the right colour before we start.

We have discovered over the years that there are a lot of inferior paint on the market. It is such a shame to decide to paint the interior of your home and instead of just paying a little extra to use really good quality paint, that people try and save money in the short term, when in fact a paint job should well outlast the latest trend before starting to breakdown.

Because we only use quality paint, we can give a written guarantee on all our workmanship. We give you a written guarantee when all your painting work has been completed (either interior or exterior), which has your name and your address printed on, the date the work was undertaken and the date that the warranty will expire in 5 year time.
